Demi Lovato has inked a deal to join Simon Cowell on the judging panel of The X Factor.

The singer/actress officially signed a contract for the upcoming second season of the hit TV talent show, according to TMZ.com.

Lovato joins fellow newcomer Britney Spears as they replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.

An official announcement is due to take place in New York City soon.
